Prototype: The Austrian 580 Class 2-10-0 steam locomotive was designed for heavy freight and express traffic for the Royal Austrian Railroads in 1912. Ing. Prossy the famous Austrian locomotive designer, created this marvel. He also designed many of Austria's famous locomotives, The 580 was used for mostly freight, and some express service on the "Tauernbahn" which is a very mountainous route stretching from Munich Germany, through Austria, all the way down to Italy.
Model: The model of the 580 is handmade in brass; it features a full cab interior, functional boiler hatch, with full boiler details and a brush-less, ironless bell shaped motor. The model also has functional four cylinder pistons, and crank shafts. This model is a masterpiece and it features too many technical and optical details to list. Please keep in mind that quantities are extremely limited; we recommend that you act fast because they will sell fast. Micro Metakit will produce six versions; a total of only 400 will be made.
